Some household pets develop a habit of eating garbage, their own faeces an other undesirable things. This, of course, is a habit and the dog owner will naturally hate it. By nature, all breeds of dogs loves to eat material with foul smell.

Clinical Symptoms
Whenever the dog is kept loose in the house, he develops a habit of piking up and eating the things. Such dogs while going out for natural calls, walking or exercise in the morning and evening, particularly in the absence of their masters are seen picking up and eating garbage-like things. There may be loss of appetite in due course of time, falling of hairs, gradual decline in health and body weight. If not prevented or controlled in time, this habit may lead to loss of appetite, gastritis and vomiting.
Management and Treatment
- Keep the dog chained during day time.
- Keep strict supervision while leaving him on the road for natural calls and exercise. It is preferable to use chain and accompany him on the road as well. You can give some run or exercise in your presence and do not allow him to pick up undesirables during this period.
- Yeast tablets – 1 or 2 tablet after meals for few days.
- Vimeral – 1 tablespoon twice a day for one to two weeks.
- Feeding of heart muscle, pieapple, fish and pumpkin is also useful.
- Liv 52 – 1 tablespoon once or twice a week after meals.
- Use dog muzzle during outing with the pet dog.
- Tablet Calcimax – 1 tablet twice a day.
- Gastrozyme syrup – 1 tablespoon twice a day during or immediately after meals.
- Provide protein rich diet to the pet.
- Wormin tablet – 1 tablet twice a day for 3 days, once in every 2-3 months.
- Vitapet Syrup – 1 tablespoon twice daily for 30 days.
- Nutripet pet meal for few months.
- Cypro-L Syrup – 1 tablespoon twice daily for 30 days.
Homeopathic Remedies
- Nux vomica 30 – for digestive issues
- Calcare carb 30 – for aversion to milk
- Santonin 30 – for roundworms
- China 30 – for tapeworms
- Alfalfa syrup – general health tonic
- Mixture of Calcarea phos. + Calcarea flour + Merc sol. + Creosotum + Chamomilla twice daily for few day is very effective.
